| - i will walk by faith, even when i cannot see, well, because this broken road, prepares Your will for me *edit: new info at the "time of sharing" part of the entry*
prayer (an update on pop-pop):
Thanks, everyone, for your prayers! Not only did
Pop-Pop survive that weekend, but he was discharged from the hospital
on Monday and he is now in a rehab facility. Hopefully his cognitive
functions improve, so he can go home soon! But we're really excited and
it's really great news!
this past week (in brief):
I don't have anything I want to or feel like I can say on here about
this passt week. Needless to say, we're all reeling and can only
recover with God's help and grace. Pray for all those involved.
time of sharing (a review of my mommy's email):
"A time of sharing will be held [tonight] Friday night (11/18)
at 7:00 pm . This is for all... people affected by this past Sunday's tragedy. A local
lay-Christian counselor Susie Strayer will be leading an informal time of
facilitated discussion, sharing and prayer. Susie has done crisis intervention
counseling in several previous tragic situations for local churches.
"If you or a younger member of your family is struggling or hurting from
this past weekend's events, this may be of help to you. All are welcome to
attend...
"'And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all
your heart.' Jeremiah 29:13"
if you would like to come: email me or leave a comment and I'll get back to you.
I took off where it was, directions, etc., for security purposes.
to contact me regarding the service: use the "send email" button
that is to the left. If it doesn't work, leave me a comment instead.
final thoughts (goodbye):
I really hope you all can come to that service! I
think it will be very beneficial for everyone (please come even if you
are a "past-schooler" or a public school/college student -- all are invited)
I will most likely be going protected and making all my old posts
private. Too much excitement = too much attention, and it's getting old
really fast. Plus, we should give all the victims a lot of privacy. I'll keep you all posted about what I do. The only reason
I'm posting at all now is because I promised Mom and my boyfriend that
I would put the announcement up. Again, please come!
standing in God's grace (the only place a hurting heart can find relief):
Tara
Jesus, King of Angels,
Heaven's Light,
Shine Your face upon {this town}
Tonight.
Oh, Great Light of the World,
Fill up my soul,
I've never been here,
But you make me Whole.

Prayer
No, this is not going to be a theological discussion on the topic of prayer, but rather, a short post to ask you for prayer.
My Pop Pop (dad's dad Nick) went into the ER on Tuesday with what
we thought was a nasty case of the flu, or was a small stroke.
It turns out that he has viral encephalitis.
For those of you who are not medical professionals, I'll add a
definition in this post in a little bit. Suffice it to say that it is a
very lifethreatening infection of the brain, and that many of the
people who contract it die from it (sometimes close to 80%).
He is in the ICU right now, and the doctors said that he has a 60/40 chance of surviving. Yesterday was the first day that he did not get worse,
and we should know by the end of tonight or tomorrow if he will live
through this. He is only 77 and is very healthy otherwise, which
is playing in his favor.
Right now, they are asking that no one go in to visit him,
because it provides too much stimulus for his brain and makes the
pressure in his brain and skull much higher (if it goes too high, he
will be put into a coma probably, or he will die). The whole huge
family has been staking out the waiting room for days, and I think I'm
going up again tonight (I saw him on Thursday, too).
Please pray that he pulls through this. He is not a Christian, so pray that this leads to his salvation.
Thanks!

| Attention:
I'm trying to go visit Ashley at Liberty this weekend, and I need someone who drives to come with me (a girl, preferably). I'm hoping to go on Saturday and come back Sunday, but I can't go by myself because of the longish drive and lack of sleep, etc. Anyway, if anyone wants to go, let me know ASAP!!!! We can stay in the dorm with Ash, so we won't need a hotel or anything, but she has to have like 3 days notice or get fined. EEK!
SOMEONE, COME!!!!!!!!!!
